Order statuses and how to change them
Where statuses come from, how to change them, and where to see who changed the previous one.
Your company defines order statuses; the system does not have a fixed built-in list. Each status has a name, color, icon, and position, and statuses can be arranged into groups. Configure them in settings.
This means the status on the left of the order list, the colored pill in the table, and the item in the status bar all use the same company-specific vocabulary.
Change one order’s status
- Open the order by clicking its row in the list.
- In the header, click the colored status pill. It is a button, not plain text: look for the arrow ⌄ on its right and the Change status (T) tooltip. Pressing
Tdoes the same thing. - The pill becomes a field with the Search statuses... prompt. Type part of a name.
- Click a status in the list. The current status has a checkmark beside it.
- The change is saved immediately; there is no confirmation button. Status changed appears at the bottom. If it fails, you see Could not change status. Press
Escto cancel.
The change appears in History at the bottom of the order screen, with who made it and when. The section shows the latest few entries; use Show all ({count}) to reveal the rest. Its tooltip says Show all statuses (S); pressing S does the same. Collapse it with Show less.
If you do not have permission to change status, the pill has no arrow or tooltip and clicking it does nothing.
Change several orders’ statuses
- Select rows in the order list using their checkboxes.
- In the selection bar beside the count, find Change status.... It is a search field on the bar, not an item in the Actions menu.
- Type part of a status name and choose it from the list.
- The operation starts as soon as you select the status — there is no confirmation or summary afterward. Success is not confirmed; you see a message only if the request fails.
Marketplace status is different
An order has two statuses: your internal status and the status on the sales channel. The header shows both. Changing the internal status does not change the marketplace status; integration rules handle that.
