Order priority — five levels and what they affect
A star chip in the order header shows the level, from Very low to Very high. It determines which warehouse queue is offered first, not the route through the shelves.
Every order has a priority from 1 to 5: Very low, Low, Normal, High, Very high. New orders are Normal. A higher level means one thing: the order should be fulfilled earlier.
The level is shown as a die face, with stars instead of dots: one star means Very low; five means Very high. More stars mean greater urgency.
Set priority
From the order list
Click the die in a row to open five faces to choose from. Clicking one saves immediately and the row shows the new level; the list does not jump or refresh. Clicking the die does not open the order. Without permission for this field, the die only shows a tooltip with the level, as before.
If saving fails, the row returns to its previous level and Could not save appears at the bottom.
From the order page
- Open an order. In the header on the right, before the Refresh button, find the Priority chip: a row of stars in the level’s color — three green stars means Normal, five red means Very high. Hover to see the name and level number.
- Click the chip to open five named faces. Choose one. It saves immediately, the Saved message confirms it, and the chip updates its color and number of stars.
If the chip does not open a menu and its tooltip does not say to click to change it, you lack permission for the field. It is a field-level permission like any other order column; ask an administrator.
Where it appears
- The order list has a narrow star column with no heading text, to save space. Each row has a die: hover to see the level name, click to change it.
- Sorting — click the star in the heading. The first click sorts from Very low; the second reverses the order so the most urgent orders are at the top. Each click changes direction. The arrow beside the star shows the sort direction and persists across filter changes and page refreshes. Orders with the same priority are ordered oldest first.
- Basic filters include Priority. Select one or more levels, such as High and Very high, to show only those orders. The selected levels appear by name in a chip above the list.
- Advanced filters also have a Priority field: choose one or more levels or a at least / at most condition.
What changes when priority changes
- The queue-creation automation takes higher-priority orders first, before older orders at lower priority.
- If an order is already in a queue set to From orders mode, the queue takes the highest priority among its orders. A picker with an empty cart receives it before other queues (Queue priority — where it comes from and how it affects cart assignment).
- The change sends a workflow event (Order priority changed). A rule can respond to it, set the priority itself (Edit order, Priority field), or check it with the Order priority condition.
What priority does NOT do
- It does not change the picking order within one queue. Priority decides which queue a picker gets first, not the route through the shelves.
- It does not move an order within a queue with a fixed priority set in its scenario.
