We have worked in e-commerce for 18 years. We sell OMBRE men's clothing in Poland and abroad, through our own store and marketplaces. Over that time we tried quite a few off-the-shelf systems for orders and warehousing. None of them fitted us completely. Some had a good OMS but a weak warehouse module. Others were the other way round. The ones that did everything cost so much that it made no sense at our scale.
At some point we decided it would be cheaper and better to write our own. We wanted a system that would handle our orders, warehouse and shipping the way we actually work, not the way someone who has never packed a parcel imagined it.
For several years we developed it purely for our own needs. Peak seasons, returns, changes to marketplace rules, packing mistakes, new carriers. Whatever happened in the company ended up in the system as a fix or a new feature.
Today we offer it to other companies under the name NOXTI. When we talk to them, we usually hear about the same problems we had a few years earlier. We still build new features for specific companies and specific processes, and we roll them out in stages so the warehouse does not stop.
