GPSR when listing offers — manufacturer, responsible person, company details
Every offer in the EU must say who made the product and who is responsible for it. The responsible person comes from company details automatically; the manufacturer never does.
The GPSR regulation requires three things in every offer: the manufacturer, the responsible person in the EU, and safety information. The data is the same for every marketplace; only the way it reaches that marketplace's system differs.
Where the data comes from
| Data | Source |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer | From the manufacturer field mapping in the listing wizard. Never automatically from company details. |
| Responsible person | From a mapping, or, if there is none, from GPSR data in company settings. |
| Safety information | From a mapping. |
The manufacturer does not come from the company automatically because this is a fact about the product. Entering the seller as the manufacturer of someone else's product would be false information.
Company details in a mapping
In a mapping rule, choose the Company details source and then a field: legal name, tax ID (NIP), EU VAT number, email (general or customer service), phone, website, registered address (whole or in parts), or GPSR responsible-person details. This works for every parameter on every marketplace, not only GPSR.
Your own brand: map the manufacturer fields to the legal name, registered address, and customer-service email. If a company field is empty, the next parameter rule is used.
What each marketplace does
- eMAG, bol, InPost—the data is sent with the offer.
- Allegro—the offer references the manufacturer and responsible person saved in your Allegro account. The safest option: in the offer template, under the GPSR group, choose Manufacturer from Allegro account (and Responsible person from Allegro account) from the records in your account, just as you would choose a delivery price list or warranty. Set this once “for all categories” or separately for a catalog, category, or offer; you can also choose a default in the connection settings. The selected record is sent directly, with no guessing, and requires no name or address in the mapping. If you remove it from your Allegro account, the offer will not be listed until you choose another one.
If you do not choose a record, the system looks for a manufacturer by name. If it cannot find one, it creates one using data from the mapping. If the email (or website), address, or country is missing, the offer will not be listed and the message will say what is missing. The responsible person must have an address in the EU.
- Mirakl (Modivo), Turis—GPSR data is not sent yet.
Before listing, the wizard warns you if the manufacturer or responsible person is missing for a marketplace that sends GPSR data.
