Parameters with value lists — custom values and dependent lists
A parameter with a list (color, brand, model) may also accept custom text, and sometimes its list depends on another parameter. The wizard shows both cases and, when listing, sends the value as the marketplace requires.
Custom values
Some lists include an “other” option and accept text that is not in the list. Beneath such a field, the wizard says “Not on the list? Enter a custom value”—simply enter it in the field. When listing, the system sends the “other” option together with your text, as Allegro requires.
If a list does not accept custom text, a value outside the list triggers a warning. Allegro will try to match it automatically and reject the offer if it cannot find a matching item.
Dependent lists
Some lists depend on another parameter—for example, a model depends on a brand. After you select a brand, the model list shows only models for that brand. If a mapping sets a mismatched pair, the pre-listing check warns: “… does not go with the chosen …”.
This currently works on Allegro. After rollout, refresh the category parameters so the system can remember which lists accept custom values and what they depend on.
