Ramp — return baskets and batch scan on receipt

Ramp mode is for the initial receipt of a batch of parcels, before anyone opens them. It has two variants that do very different things.

Step by step — sort into baskets

1. Open Scan (Alt+1) and switch to Ramp mode. The button appears only when the company has enabled ramp receiving or consolidated scanning.
2. If both modes are enabled, choose Individual (with baskets). If only one mode is enabled, there is no choice; the system opens the relevant one directly.
3. On Scan basket for RECOGNIZED parcels, scan the first basket code into Basket code, then confirm with Enter or Next. A green Recognized bar shows the basket code; Reset beside it lets you change it.
4. On Scan basket for UNRECOGNIZED parcels, scan the second basket code and press Start scanning. Parcel scanning cannot begin until both baskets are set.
5. Scan parcels one by one; they are sorted into baskets automatically. The result card says what happened: green Parcel recognized or orange New parcel, with the basket code beside it. Scans appear in Recent scans (N).
6. When a basket is full or the batch is finished, press Put away — there is a separate button for each basket. The system places it at the returns workstation; you do not scan anything.
7. After putting a basket away, set that basket up again by scanning an empty one in its place. You can continue scanning parcels. To see which parcels went into which basket, open Return baskets (see below).

Step by step — confirm ZRS receipt

1. Open Scan (Alt+1), select Ramp, then Consolidated (receipt marking).
2. Scan the SSCC on the Zalando ZRS consolidated-carton label. No baskets are used or need to be set up.
3. Read the result card: Parcel received with Marked as received at {time} and Received by, or Parcel already received with Already received by {person} ({date}) and Originally received by. A repeat scan does not overwrite the original record.
4. Track progress with Received in this session and Repeat scans (already received). The second counter appears after you scan something a second time.
5. When starting a new batch, reset the counter with Clear session.

“Individual (with baskets)” variant

This sorts parcels into two baskets: straightforward cases for one person and difficult ones for another. The Basket code field (tooltip Scan basket code...) is the same in both basket setup steps.

A parcel is recognized when the system has an expected return linked to an order. A parcel without such a link goes to the unrecognized basket and a new tracking entry is created for it.

Put away places the basket at a returns workstation. If the company has no location of type returns workstation, the operation is denied; create that location first.

A basket is a mobile location. The system rejects a missing code, a code matching multiple locations, an inactive location, or a location that is not a basket. If settings require baskets and both have not been specified, parcel scanning is rejected.

If dock receiving is disabled, the scan is rejected and Return baskets shows: Dock receiving is disabled. Enable it in return settings.

Available by direct URL — it is not in the menu. Columns: Basket, Recognized, Unrecognized, Total, Location, Last scan. Expand a row to see the parcels: Scan code, Waybill, Tracking, Order, Marketplace, Status, Received, By.

When empty, it says No baskets with parcels or No parcels.

“Consolidated (receipt marking)” variant

This variant is only for confirming physical receipt of Zalando ZRS consolidated parcels. The screen says: Scan the ZRS consolidated parcel SSCC — the system will mark it as physically received. Baskets are not used.

Session counters: Received in this session, Repeat scans (already received), and Clear session.

Confirmations: Marked as received at {time}, or after a repeat scan Already received by {person} ({date}).

Rejections:

• This is an individual return code; switch to Individual (with baskets).
• No ZRS consolidated parcel found for the given code.
• Ramp consolidated scanning is not enabled for this company — enable it in return settings, under Zalando ZRS.

This variant supports ZRS only. AboutYou parcels are not supported here — Consolidated and bulk returns — ZRS cartons, AY parcels, and warehouse parcels.

After initial receiving, the parcel follows the normal process: an employee takes the basket and scans returns as usual.
