“1/5” and kilograms — both describe the order, not the item in your hand
The most common misunderstanding on this screen, plus why the displayed weight may be too low without a warning.
Both indicators on the sorting card describe the whole order, not the item in your hand. Side by side, they can be read the wrong way round, so each has its own label: “Order item” and “Order weight”.
Step by step
- Scan the EAN of the product you are holding.
- A grey footer expands below the product name. Its first row says Order: and shows the shop order number. If there is no shop order number, it shows
#followed by the internal number. - Two labeled values appear below it:
- list icon, Order item, value
1/5; - scale icon, Order weight, for example
1.25 kg.
- list icon, Order item, value
- Read the labels, not just the numbers. Both refer to the whole order, not the item in your hand.
1/5means “you are holding the first of five units in this order,” not “one has already been put away.” - If there is no weight row, none of the order’s items has a weight set. It does not mean the order weighs nothing.
- If the weight looks suspiciously low, check the product cards for this order. Items without a weight are silently excluded from the total; the kiosk shows no warning.
- A green last badge beside the order number means this is the last unit to sort and no items from the order are still waiting for picking. After you put it away, voice feedback says “last”; if the order is split across locations, it says “split last”.
- If the number on this shelf does not match, expand Products to sort. The list heading shows
N items · M unitsfor this location, not the whole order. It has nothing to do with the1/5counter.
Counter
“1/5” means you are holding the first of five units in this order. It does not mean one unit has already been put away.
- The denominator is all units in this order that need sorting, in queues you can access.
- The numerator is the units already put away plus the one you are holding now.
After the item is put away, the same counter is calculated without adding one because the unit is now closed.
The screen may also show:
- How many order items are still waiting to be picked — whether the order has been fully gathered.
- Whether this is the last unit — nothing remains to sort or pick.
- Whether the order is split — units so far have ended up at more than one location.
Weight
This is the weight of the entire order, calculated from all items and their quantities, whether they have been sorted or are at this location. This screen does not know the weight of an individual product.
Two things to keep in mind:
- Products without a weight set are silently excluded from the total. If only some items in an order have weights, the displayed value is too low, with no warning.
- If no item has a weight, the weight row is not displayed.
If the weight seems too low, check that every product card has a weight before treating it as a sorting error.
