What blocks a placement and what is only a warning
Nine sorting rules. A trolley shelf is always blocked; a different shelf triggers a warning, not a refusal.
Every refusal tells you what to do next. Here is the same information in one place.
| Refusal | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Inactive location | The destination is disabled |
| Wrong location type | The destination is neither a sorting location nor a mobile container |
| Trolley shelf not allowed | The destination is a trolley shelf |
| Single order on a shelf | A one-unit order must go in a basket |
| Multi-item order in a basket | A multi-item order must go on a shelf |
| Basket in packing area | The basket is already at a packing station |
| Packing in progress from basket | Someone is currently packing from it |
| Mixing modes | Items of the opposite mode are already at the destination |
| Shelf occupied by another order | Another order is on the shelf |
Step by step
- Scan the product EAN. The banner shows SINGLE → TO BASKET or MULTI → TO SHELF, with Scan basket or Scan destination shelf below.
- Scan the destination location code. Alternatively, press and hold the right tile (labeled To basket or To shelf) for one second. Its progress bar fills and the system treats the displayed code as scanned. A short tap only copies the code.
- On success, the banner turns green: SORTED TO BASKET or SORTED TO SHELF, with the location code and product name. A green row with the EAN and
1× → CODEappears under the tiles and disappears after 10 seconds. - On refusal, the banner turns red and beeps. Read it immediately: it disappears after 10 seconds and returns to “Scan product EAN”.
- Match the banner message to the table below and follow its instruction.
- A refusal does not take the product away. It is still waiting for a location — scan a different one. To abandon it, use Cancel item at the bottom of the screen or the back arrow in the header.
- A yellow WRONG SHELF — SAVED banner is not a refusal. The operation succeeded and voice feedback says “wrong shelf”. Do not correct anything.
Exact refusal messages
| Banner message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Location is inactive. | Use another location; this one was disabled in settings. |
| This is not a valid sorting destination. | The destination must be a sorting shelf or basket. Scan one of those. |
| Trolley shelf is not a sorting location. | Move away from the trolley; its shelves are used for picking to trolley. |
| SINGLE must go to a basket — this is a shelf. | Scan a basket (mobile container). |
| MULTI must go to a shelf — this is a basket. | Scan a sorting shelf. |
| Basket is in the packing area — do not sort here. | This basket is already at a packing station. Use another. |
| Basket has packing in progress — do not add new items. | Someone is packing from it. Use another basket. |
| Do not mix SINGLE and MULTI on one location. | Items of the opposite mode are already there. Use an empty location. |
| Shelf is already occupied by another order — one order per shelf. | Open a new shelf. |
For a wrong shelf (a warning, not a refusal), the server sends this text as-is, without Polish characters: “Zamowienie jest juz na polce CODE! Produkt polozony na CODE.”
Why trolley shelves are blocked
Trolley shelves are reserved for picking to trolley, where sorting happens as you go, while putting goods away. The sorting and transport phases are disabled by definition in that flow. Putting an item on a trolley shelf in sorting mode would send it into a flow that will not pick it up.
The block has two layers: trolley shelves are excluded from suggestions and rejected during destination checks.
A wrong shelf is a warning, not a block
When a multi-item order already has a shelf and you put an item on another one, the operation succeeds and the screen adds a warning. The order is split across two shelves, but the system records and displays that (see “split order” in the counter article).
A block applies only in the reverse case: the shelf is occupied by another order.
