Two operators at one sorting station
Nothing is reserved between scanning the product and scanning the location. Instead of locking the item, the system substitutes another one.
Sorting does not reserve an item between the product scan and the location scan. The system handles this by substitution, not by locking. That way, no one holds up goods because they walked away from the sorting station with an EAN scanned.
Step by step
- Scan the EAN. The card below the banner shows the mode heading (Single-item order or Multi-item order) and a footer with Order: number.
- Go to the destination and scan its code. Between these scans, nothing is set aside for you — an operator at the next sorting station can take the same item.
- A green SORTED TO SHELF / SORTED TO BASKET banner means it worked. The screen does not report substitutions; if someone got there first, the system silently chose a replacement.
- After a substitution, the destination is checked again, so a location that was valid a second ago may be refused. Common messages are Shelf is already occupied by another order — one order per shelf. and Do not mix SINGLE and MULTI on one location. Scan a different location; the product is still in your hand.
- A red Product is not in the sorting queue for this location. banner means no replacement was found. Do not put it there. Return the item to the drop-off point and scan the next EAN.
- To start this product over, tap Cancel item at the bottom of the screen.
- To see what else remains at this location, expand Products to sort. The list heading shows
N items · M units; the counter by the button shows the units on this shelf.
How the system chooses an item
First, the oldest order; then picking completion time; finally, the item number. Items whose picking is incomplete are invisible to sorting.
Two operators scanning the same EAN at the same moment get different items — neither has to wait.
If someone got there first
If someone else sorted the item between your product scan and location scan, the system looks for a replacement: first in the same order, then any available item. This prevents your movement from being assigned to someone else’s order.
After substitution, the destination is checked again. The replacement may belong to another order or use another mode, so a location that was valid a second ago may no longer work.
If there is no item left to sort, the operation is rejected with a clear message. A stock movement without a queue item would have no trace, so the system tells you there is nothing to put away.
