Interrupt, resume, and abandon packing
Refreshing the page costs nothing. Suspending sets an order aside without an alert. Abandoning reverses warehouse movements but keeps a single-parcel label. A packed order cannot be abandoned.
Resuming is automatic
The kiosk remembers an unfinished order at your station and restores the entire session when you enter packing mode. After refreshing the page, continue without scanning the container again—with item state, counter, carrier information, and documents preserved.
If you left the order with the ← arrow, the kiosk does not open it automatically. On the station screen, a Resume packing #N tile shows what to scan (“Scan basket K04,” or for a cart shelf “Scan shelf … on cart …”). Tap it or scan that basket to return to the same place. If the order is split across several baskets, the kiosk points to the one with the most items remaining. The kiosk refuses a basket for another order and tells you which order to finish first and which basket contains it.
Resuming is tied to you and this station. A colleague's session at another station will not appear for you.
Step by step: abandon packing
- You abandon the order currently on screen—the session must be open.
- Tap the ⋮ icon on the right edge of the top bar. Pressing and holding the bar with the mode name briefly does the same thing. The Station actions panel opens.
- Choose Abandon packing—it is always after Suspend and Missing goods in the same place.
- Read “Abandon packing for this order? Scanned items will be reversed” and press Abandon. Cancel closes the window without changing anything.
- The kiosk responds Packing abandoned and returns to the station screen. Items return to their pre-packing state and the order can be packed again from scratch. What happens to the parcel depends on how many there are; see below.
- If the kiosk refuses instead, the order is already fully packed, meaning its shipping label has been confirmed. The kiosk will not reverse this; contact the office.
The kiosk records the reason for abandoning automatically; there is no field for you to enter it.
Goods are missing from the basket
If the basket does not contain an item the kiosk asks you to scan, do not abandon packing. Open the ⋮ menu (the same one with Abandon packing), press Missing goods, and confirm in the “Are goods missing from the basket? Report shortage.” window. It names the order's other basket, if there is one. The kiosk responds “Put the parcel in the basket and report it to the manager,” then returns to the station screen; the manager receives a notification.
Scanned items remain; nothing is reversed. The order appears in the Suspended orders block (red row “Missing: N”) and does not open automatically after a refresh. When the goods arrive, scan the order basket—packing resumes at the same place, without reprinting documents. If goods are still missing, press Missing goods again.
Suspend without an alert
If the goods are all there but you need to leave the order (break or a more urgent parcel), do not abandon it or report a shortage. Open ⋮, press Suspend, and confirm “Suspend packing?” with the Suspend button.
- Scanned items stay in the parcel; nothing is reversed. The confirmation window says which basket to put it in: “Put the parcel in basket K04.”
- Nobody gets an alert—the manager sees no problem, and Problem—Packing counters do not change.
- The order appears in Suspended orders as an ordinary “To scan: N” row and does not open automatically after a refresh.
- To return, scan the order basket—packing resumes at the same place.
If everything has already been scanned, the kiosk refuses to suspend; the only remaining step is to close the order.
| Tile | When to use it | Alert | Resume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Suspend | You need to leave; goods are there | no | scan basket |
| Missing goods | Goods are missing from the basket | yes, manager is notified | scan basket |
| Abandon packing | Start over | no | restart packing |
Step by step: reprint a document
- Tap ⋮ and open Station actions.
- Select Reprint. If the order has no files, the tile is absent; while the list is loading, it is briefly disabled.
- One document—printing starts immediately, without confirmation. Several—Choose document opens, with a type (Label, Invoice, Other document) and filename on each row. Back returns to the actions.
- The kiosk confirms Reprinted.
- If printing fails, you do not need to open the panel. A ready Reprint button appears below “Label created but not printed—print again” and repeats exactly the document that failed.
Abandoning reverses everything
Abandoning records a reason (the kiosk sends it automatically) and reverses the operation: items return to their pre-packing state and counteracting warehouse movements are created. The order can be packed again from scratch.
What happens to the parcel and label
Abandon means “set this aside for now,” not “cancel this order.” That is why a parcel disappears only when it needs to be broken down and repacked.
| Number of parcels | What the kiosk does |
|---|---|
| One | The parcel, label, and carrier shipment remain. Resume packing with the same label—you do not print it again. |
| Two or more | The kiosk cancels the carrier shipment (for example, it disappears from Allegro's “Awaiting dispatch” list) and deletes every parcel and label. The next label creates a new shipment, so no duplicates remain with the carrier. |
The difference matters because, with several parcels, you may need to redistribute the products among cartons. That split is stored in the parcels. With one parcel, there is nothing to redistribute; everything goes into one carton anyway.
The total number of parcels for the entire order counts, not the number on one shipment. Two shipments with one parcel each still form a split, so both are cancelled.
A fully packed order cannot be abandoned—you will be refused. At that point a shipment has already been ordered from the carrier; the office must reverse it in the label panel.
⋮ menu — exits and reprinting
The ⋮ icon on the right edge of the context bar opens the actions panel.
- Exit actions are always first, in a fixed order: Suspend → Missing goods → Abandon packing. Suspend and Missing goods appear only when an order is open. Each has a confirmation window.
- “Reprint” appears only when there is something to print. No documents—the tile is absent. One document—print immediately, without confirmation. Several—choose between documents by filename.
- Scanning closes the panel. The panel occupies the action area; if left open, it would cover the button that this scan just enabled.
- Voided documents cannot be printed. The voided-label row and file remain for audit, but cannot be printed—otherwise the picker could offer an invalid shipping label.
The panel opens immediately and loads the document list in the background. Abandon is the canonical way out of a stuck session, so it cannot depend on a request that might be slow or broken.
