Configuration — section map and setup order
Six areas: users, roles, companies, settings, notifications, and the change log. The order in which you set them up matters.
| Area | About | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| User accounts | Creating accounts, access, IP | Where user accounts live — one screen, five tabs |
| Roles and permissions | Who can see and change what | Role — what it is and how permissions are calculated |
| My companies | Company details, branches, warehouses | Company details — profile, identifiers, bank, compliance, and logo |
| Settings | Ten sections for module configuration | Settings — map of ten sections |
| Notifications | Email and SMS accounts, templates, log | Email and SMS accounts — sending configuration |
| Audit log | Who changed what | Change log — what is and is not recorded |
Setup order
The order is not arbitrary — each step depends on the previous one.
- Company details — identifiers, address, bank accounts, logo. Without them, documents will be incomplete (Company details — profile, identifiers, bank, compliance, and logo).
- Languages (Company languages — three rules worth knowing).
- Branches and warehouses — the sender address on labels depends on them (Sender address — which address appears on the label).
- Roles — design them before you let people in (Creating and editing a role — the two-tab window).
- Users (Adding a user — create an account or add an existing one).
- Module settings — statuses, warehouse, documents (Settings — map of ten sections).
- Notifications — sending accounts and templates (Email and SMS accounts — sending configuration).
- Integrations (Integrations — branch map and where to start).
Three things that will save you trouble
- Have two administrators. One cannot recover their own account after losing 2FA (Forgotten password and blocked access — what an administrator can and cannot do).
- Permissions are additive, and there are no denials. A “restricted” role does not restrict anything (Role — what it is and how permissions are calculated).
- Several modules were not granted to anyone during deployment — including Goods receipt, Assistant, and Audit log. They must be assigned deliberately (Permission traps — why granting access sometimes changes nothing).
The permission that opens everything else
Roles and permissions is the broadest permission in the system: it lets someone grant any access to anyone, and also create new companies (Creating a new company). Treat it as a top-level permission.
