Settings — map of ten sections
Ten sections and over fifty tabs. This article shows where everything is and which tabs require a different permission from their parent section.
Step by step
Find a specific tab
- Sidebar → Configuration → Settings. The menu link always opens Orders (
/settings/ecommerce), not the section you visited last. If you lack access to it, you land in the first section you are allowed to see. - The left side has a list of sections, each with a one-line description. Above it is Search settings….
- Enter part of a name. Search covers section and tab names and descriptions and immediately expands matching tabs across all sections; you do not need to guess where one is.
- Click a section. Its tabs expand in the sidebar and also appear as pills above the content. A section with one tab shows neither a list nor pills; its content opens directly.
- The address is
/settings/<section>?tab=<tab>. It changes with each selection, so you can bookmark a view.
Find out why a tab is missing
- Check the section table to see which permission protects the whole section.
- Check the table below to see if that specific tab has its own permission, different from the section’s. This is the most common reason for “I can see the section, but not the tab”.
- Remember the side effect: a section disappears entirely when none of its tabs are visible. If the section is missing, you may have lost access to its only available tab rather than to the section permission.
- Do not test this by typing the address. Opening a forbidden section or tab silently redirects to the first allowed one, with no message. You see “You are not authorized! 🔐” only if you have no sections available at all.
Sections
| Section | Required permission | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | Orders | Order statuses, status groups |
| Delivery | Deliveries | Carrier statuses, shipment statuses, carrier-status mapping, shipment validation |
| Email and SMS | Notifications | SMTP accounts, SMS accounts, email and SMS templates, blocked recipients, change audit, delivery report access |
| Warehouse | Warehouse and returns | 20 tabs: locations, zones, types, stations, rules, queues, scenarios, returns, replenishment, stocktake |
| Integrations | Integrations | Carrier for delivery method, marketplace order statuses, AI instructions, pricing policies |
| Catalogue | Products | Country VAT rates, cross-country VAT equivalents, product VAT, languages and translations |
| Documents | Documents | Document types, categories, numbering, document flow, PDF print layout, template mapping, file import/export, import history, export history, SubConnect mapping |
| Attendance | Attendance | Kiosks, event types, kiosk login, schedule groups |
| System | System | Exchange rates, session security, API access |
| Company data | Settings | Basic details, identifiers, bank, compliance (GDPR / GPSR), sender details, logo |
Message history and statistics are daily work, not configuration; find them under Communication in the sidebar (Sending log — what happened to a message). Blocked recipients stay here because “do not send to this address” is a rule set once (Exclusion list — addresses we do not send to).
Note two rows: Catalogue is protected by Products permissions and Company data by Settings. A section name does not always match its permission name.
Tabs with a different permission from their section
This is the most common reason for “I can see the section, but the tab is empty”:
| Tab | Section | Actually requires |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier statuses, Shipment statuses, Carrier-status mapping | Delivery | platform super administrator |
| Location ABC zones, Product ABC classes, Replenishment scenarios, Replenishment — handheld settings | Warehouse | Replenishment |
| Stocktake, Stocktake scenarios | Warehouse | Stocktake |
| PDF print layout, Template mapping | Documents | Print templates |
| API access | System | Company administrator — this permission cannot be granted through roles. The tab is hidden if you are not an administrator (technical accounts require help from a company administrator). |
Other tabs inherit permission from their section. The entire Email and SMS section — including SMTP accounts and change audit — uses the single Notifications permission (Settings access — permission pitfalls).
How visibility works
A section appears when you have read permission for its permission. A tab appears when you have read permission for its own permission, if it has one. A section with no visible tabs disappears entirely.
Forbidden addresses do not show an error
Opening a section or tab you cannot access silently redirects you to the first one you are allowed to open. No message appears.
In practice, a settings link sent to a colleague may open a completely different screen, while both of you think you are looking at the same one. When discussing configuration, give the section and tab names, not just the address.
