AboutYou — how to connect it and what the connector does

The AboutYou connector connects the WMS directly to your AboutYou seller account (Seller Center). It imports orders, sends tracking numbers, stock, and prices, and imports listings and returns. This is a separate connection from Tradebyte, which may have been used for AboutYou previously.

Step by step

Connect an account

1. In AboutYou Seller Center, an account administrator creates an API key (Settings → API keys).
2. In the WMS, add an AboutYou connection and paste in the key.
3. In the Sales countries table, select the countries handled by this connection. One key covers every country on the account, so you can have one connection for all countries or a separate connection per country. Two connections cannot select the same country—otherwise orders would arrive twice. Until you select countries, nothing is imported.
4. Test the connection to check that the key works and that the selected countries are on the account.

Set up statuses

On the connection’s status screen, click Fetch statuses and map the five AboutYou statuses. The most important one is cancelled; map it to a cancellation status, or an AboutYou cancellation will not remove the order from picking.

Set up carriers and the return label

When shipping, AboutYou requires a return label number. In delivery method mapping, set a carrier and return carrier for AboutYou methods. An automation rule must create the return label for each new order; configure it during implementation. Without a return label, the tracking number will not be sent to AboutYou, and an issue will appear in the problem list.

What you need to know

• Products are matched by SKU; AboutYou orders do not include an EAN.
• Each line represents one unit. An item canceled in AboutYou does not enter picking. An order canceled in AboutYou after import is detected within 15 minutes.
• Stock is published by SKU, with one stock level for the entire account (not split by country).
• Prices are changed per country, in the country’s currency (Sweden: SEK, Poland: PLN, others: EUR). Changing a price does not cancel an active promotion.
• Returns: an expected return is created from our return label when shipping. AboutYou refunds the customer after we mark the item as returned; the returns engine does this after the warehouse decision.
• Invoices are issued by AboutYou; we do not send them.
• Orders shipped by AboutYou’s warehouse (FBM) are not reported as shipped by us.
