Companies, branches, and warehouses — structure
The organizational structure is not in Settings; it has a separate “My companies” screen. Access is protected by the roles permission, not Settings.
Not in Settings
You will not find the organizational structure in Settings. It is on the separate My companies screen, under Team and access.
Access is protected by Roles and permissions, not Settings. Anyone allowed to manage roles is also allowed to create branches and warehouses (Module permissions — read, write, and create).
Step by step
The Companies, branches, and warehouses screen has three lists: companies at the top, then Branches and Warehouses side by side. Both have an unlabeled + button; hover to see its tooltip.
Add a branch
- Open Configuration → Team and access → My companies.
- On the Branches card, click + (tooltip: “Add branch”). A drawer opens with Basics, Address, and Contact tabs.
- On Basics, fill in Branch name, the only required field. The branch is created in the active company, so switch to the right one first.
- If it invoices under its own tax number, fill in Branch tax ID (optional).
- Fill in Address only if the branch should have its own sender address; it overrides the company address on labels.
- Click Create, then enter the code in the 2FA verification required window and click Confirm. You will not be asked again for 15 minutes.
Add a warehouse
- On the same screen, click + in the Warehouses card (tooltip: “Add warehouse”).
- Under Department, select the branch that owns it. Leave the field blank to use the active branch; its hint says “Select a branch (active by default).”
- Enter the Warehouse name.
- Choose a Warehouse type: Physical, Virtual, or External/3PL. This affects stock and channel mappings, so choose carefully.
- Leave Warehouse active on if it should start operating immediately.
- Enter an address on the Address tab only if you mean to; see the sender address section below.
- Click Create and confirm with a 2FA code.
The field is called Department, but you choose a branch there. This is inconsistent wording, not two different entities.
Three levels
| Level | What it is |
|---|---|
| Company | The legal entity: details, identifiers, bank accounts |
| Branch | An organizational unit; it can have its own tax ID |
| Warehouse | A physical or logical place where goods are stored |
Branch with its own tax ID
A branch can override the company's tax number. This is for foreign branches registered separately in their own country.
Warehouse types
- Physical — an actual warehouse.
- Virtual — a logical warehouse with no physical location.
- External/3PL — operated by a logistics provider.
The distinction matters for stock and sales channel mappings (Mappings — warehouses, carriers, price lists, categories).
Warehouse and sender address
An address entered for a warehouse takes precedence over branch and company addresses when labels are generated (Sender address — which address appears on the label). Enter it only if that is what you want on parcels.
User assignments
Assign users to branches and warehouses when editing their accounts (Editing a user — details, activity, and IP restrictions). These assignments affect what an operator sees and where they can work.
“My companies” appears twice
- My companies under Team and access — this screen for the organizational structure.
- My companies in account settings — the list of companies you can access and a switch for the active one (My companies — active company and switching context).
Two different screens have the same name: one manages the structure; the other only switches context.
