My companies — active company and switching context
The active company sets the context for the entire application. Change it here, and from then on every list, report, and stock figure refers to that company.
One account can access several companies. The My companies tab shows which ones you can access and lets you choose the active company.
Step by step
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose My profile.
- Open the My companies tab.
- If the list is long, use Search companies… above the table.
- Check your access in the Role column for the company you want to enter. No role means you will see empty screens there.
- Click Set as active in that company’s row.
- Active company: <name>. confirms the change.
- Remember that your scanner preferences have changed with the company — these are stored separately for each company (Preferences — appearance, time zone, and scanner settings). The 2FA confirmation also expires, so the first sensitive change in the new company will ask for a code again (2FA confirmation when changing permissions).
The active company sets the context for the whole application
This is not a filter or a view preference. The active company determines whose data you see at all — orders, products, stock, reports, documents, everything.
Practical consequence: if everything is empty after you log in, first check which company is active. This is more often the cause than missing permissions.
Table
Columns: Active, Company, Symbol, Role, and Last activity. The second column is labelled Company — it contains the company name. For a long list, use Search companies… above the table.
The Role column shows your role in this specific company — and roles can differ between companies. Possible values:
- Administrator — you administer this company,
- the names of your assigned roles, separated by commas,
- No role — you have access to the company but no role, so in practice you will see only empty screens.
That last situation can look like a broken system from the inside. It is not — the account is waiting for an administrator to assign a role.
Switching
Click Set as active in the selected row. After switching, you see Active company: <name>.
Remember, your scanner settings also change with the company because they are stored separately for each company (Preferences — appearance, time zone, and scanner settings).
“You do not belong to any company yet”
You will see exactly this message instead of the table. Your account exists, but no one has assigned it to a company. You cannot fix this yourself — an administrator must do it.
