My account — five tabs and what each contains
Account settings have five tabs. Some settings apply globally to your account; others are stored separately for each company — this distinction causes the most confusion.
Open account settings from your avatar in the top-right corner. The screen has a panel on the left (your profile card) and five tabs on the right.
| Tab | What you can set |
|---|---|
| Profile | First name, surname, email, login, phone, photo, interface language |
| Security | Password, 2FA, API keys, active sessions and devices |
| My companies | Which companies you can access and which one is active |
| Preferences | Theme, time zone, date format, scanner settings |
| Notifications | What sends you notifications and how |
Step by step
Open account settings
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Choose My profile or Settings — both open the same screen on the Profile tab.
- Switch tabs on the right: Profile, Security, My companies, Preferences, Notifications. Each has its own URL, so browser back works.
The same menu has Switch company, which opens a separate company-selection screen — not the My companies tab (My companies — active company and switching context).
Read account status from the panel on the left
- The three counters at the top of the panel are labelled Companies, Devices, and 2FA. For 2FA, the value is a word instead of a number: Active or None.
- Details lists Email, Phone, Language, Time zone, Active company, and Last login. A dash means the field is empty.
- The chip below your name shows your role in the active company. A company administrator sees Administrator; no roles shows No role; no active company shows No active company.
Give support your account number
- Under Quick actions, click Copy user ID.
- A message appears at the bottom: Copied ID: {number}. Paste it into your support request.
- If you see Could not copy., the browser blocked clipboard access — copy the number from the message by hand.
There are two more shortcuts beside it: Manage sessions (goes to the Security tab) and Enable 2FA, which opens the Security tab with the setup dialog. Enable 2FA appears only while 2FA is disabled — it disappears after you enable it (Two-factor authentication (2FA) — enabling it, backup codes, and disabling it).
Panel on the left
It summarizes account status: your role in the active company, number of devices, whether 2FA is enabled, language, time zone, and last login date.
It also has three shortcuts: Enable 2FA, Manage sessions, and Copy user ID. The last one is useful for support requests — paste a number instead of explaining who you are.
Global versus per-company
This is what people most often get confused about:
| Setting | Scope |
|---|---|
| Theme, time zone, date format | Global — one value for the whole account |
| Interface language | Global |
| Scanner settings (sounds, vibration, TTS) | Separate for each company |
| Notification preferences | Global |
The scanner is the exception: after switching companies, the settings for that company take effect. If sounds suddenly disappear after you switch companies, nothing is broken — the other company has different settings (Preferences — appearance, time zone, and scanner settings).
Where to find things
- Forgotten password, change password → Changing your own password — requirements and when confirmation is needed
- Second login factor → Two-factor authentication (2FA) — enabling it, backup codes, and disabling it
- “Someone else is logged into my account” → Sessions and devices — who is logged into your account
- Token for a scanner or automation → API keys — your personal tokens
- Switching companies → My companies — active company and switching context
- Too many emails from the system → Notifications — the bell, email, and “Do not disturb” mode
