Completeness indicator
Where the percentage beside a product comes from, what matters most, and why it may be missing entirely.
Completeness is a number from 0 to 100 that answers, “Can this product be listed?” Click the indicator to see its components and a list of what is missing.
Step by step
Enable the indicator in the list
- Open Products.
- Choose a Catalog filter. Without it, the completeness column is unavailable because the score is calculated against a catalog.
- After selecting a catalog, the column appears automatically, and two previously disabled quick-filter tiles are enabled: Incomplete <80% and Missing translation.
Find products to improve
- Click the Incomplete <80% quick filter. The list narrows to products below the threshold.
- No category, No photo, and Missing translation can also narrow the list; each corresponds to one score component.
- Review the Score column and start with the lowest values. You cannot sort by it—the header is not clickable.
See what one product is missing
- Click the indicator beside a product. The Completeness window opens with the product name in the title.
- The large circle at the top shows the score. Below is a list of six components: Required attributes, Translations, Image, Category, Prices, and SEO.
- The first four appear as filled/total; Image, Category, and SEO show only Yes or No.
- Required attributes also shows
(weight: X/Y)—this is weighted scoring, not the number of fields. - The arrow on the right expands the missing items: attribute names, languages, and price groups. An attribute weighted above 1 has a yellow weight: N marker beside it.
- Start with the highest-weight attributes—they account for 60 of the 100 points.
If the window says “No completeness data”
- The product is not assigned to a catalog, so there is nothing to score it against.
- Assign a catalog; the score will appear the next time you open it.
Scoring
| Component | Weight | What is counted |
|---|---|---|
| Required attributes | 60% | Share of required attributes filled in, weighted by each attribute's weight |
| Translations | 10% | Share of languages active in the catalog that have a completed name |
| Image | 10% | Whether the product has at least one image (0 or 10, no partial score) |
| Prices | 10% | Share of active catalog price groups where the product has a price |
| Category | 5% | Whether the product has at least one active category |
| SEO | 5% | Whether a translation exists with both meta title and meta description filled in |
This explains a common surprise: a detailed description does not raise the score because description is not included. Sixty points are in required attributes, so improvements start there.
Attributes have different weights
Not every required attribute has the same weight. The catalog assigns a weight to each one, so completing one important attribute can raise the score more than completing several minor ones. The details window shows each item's weight to help you decide where to start.
No requirements means complete
If the catalog defines no required attributes, that component receives the full 60%. Translations with no active languages and prices with no active price groups also receive their full shares. This is intentional: a missing requirement is not missing data. A high score in such a catalog says more about the catalog than the product.
A product without a catalog has no indicator
Completeness is calculated against the catalog—it defines required attributes, translation languages, and price groups. A product assigned to no catalog has nothing to be scored against, so its indicator is empty. This is not an error, just a missing assignment: assign a catalog and the score will appear.
For the same reason, the completeness column appears in the list only after you select a catalog filter.
