How lists work throughout the system
Every list behaves the same way: server-side filtering, state stored in the URL, and column selection in the browser. Learn this once and you know all the screens.
Lists in this system use a shared mechanism. Learning it once saves you from having to learn each screen separately.
Step by step
Narrow the list to what you are looking for
- Enter a query in Search… above the table. You can also focus the field with
/orQ. The request is sent to the server after a short pause in typing, so results appear with a fraction-of-a-second delay. - Open the filter panel with the funnel-icon button (tooltip: Filters) or by pressing
F. The number of active filters appears beside the icon. - Check the counter on the right side of the bar:
1–25of1,234. This is the full result of the query, not the number of visible rows. Escclears the typed query. If the field is empty, the key does nothing on the list — the screen underneath can handle it.
Move between pages and change the page size
- The
←and→arrows move to the previous and next page. The arrows in the bar above the table do the same. - The footer has four buttons: first page, previous, next, last. A
page / number of pagescounter sits between them. - Choose the page size from the list in the bottom-right corner: 25, 50, 100, 250. Changing it returns you to the first page.
Choose visible columns
- Click Columns on the right side of the bar. It is not available on every list — only screens that registered their own column set show it.
- In Column configuration, uncheck what you do not use. Search columns... filters the column list itself, and Show all / Hide all toggles everything at once.
- Change the order by dragging. The dialog says: “Drag columns to change their order. Fixed columns cannot be hidden or moved.”
- Apply saves the layout, Restore defaults discards your changes, and Cancel closes without saving.
Export what you see
- Click Export. The button appears only on lists that support export.
- On a simple export list, a CSV file downloads immediately. If the result has more than 20,000 rows, you get “Export limited to … of … rows” — the file is not silently truncated.
- Lists with advanced export open an Export dialog:
- What to export? — All filtered or Selected only (the latter is disabled until you select something); each shows a row count,
- Format — Excel, CSV, JSON, XML,
- Columns — choose fields for the file, with All and Default buttons.
- Click Generate. The button is disabled if no columns are selected.
Check what this list actually supports
- Press
?or click the keyboard icon on the right of the bar. - Keyboard shortcuts opens — a legend built from the features registered by this specific list. A list without a filter panel will not show
F; a list without pagination will not show the arrows. Ctrl+Adoes not select everything. The shared toolbar never registers this shortcut, even on lists with row selection, and deliberately does not show it in the legend. Select rows using the table checkboxes.
Filtering and sorting happen on the server
Applying a filter on page three recalculates the whole result, not just the 25 visible rows.
This is the reverse of a spreadsheet and of what you might expect. Sorting works the same way — across the full result, not just the current page.
This rule applies everywhere and is strict in this system.
State is stored in the URL
Filters, sorting, page number, and search query are stored in the browser address. Copy the address and send it to a colleague to open exactly the same view.
Browser back and bookmarks work too.
Page sizes
Choose 25, 50, 100, or 250 rows; the default is 25. The server caps anything above 250 — this prevents a query for the whole table at once.
Column selection
The Columns button lets you hide what you do not use. Your selection is stored in your browser, so:
- on another computer you see the default layout,
- a colleague sees their own layout, not yours,
- clearing browser data restores the default.
Search does not search everywhere
The search field above the list searches selected fields on that list, not everything. On a shipments list it may search only the shipment number; on a documents list, the document name.
Before deciding something is missing, check whether you are searching a field this list actually searches. Search is delayed by a fraction of a second to avoid querying the server for every keystroke.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
/ or Q | Search |
F | Filters |
R | Refresh |
← → | Previous and next page |
Esc | Clear search |
? | Shortcut legend |
Shortcuts do not work while you are typing in a text field or while a dialog is open — they will not intercept your text.
On warehouse terminals they are also suppressed during scanning so they do not interfere with the scanner (F1–F7 keys and the settings drawer).
Ctrl+K is reserved for global search and works everywhere (Global search).
Export
Not every list has export — the button appears only where it is supported. Lists with advanced export open a dialog for choosing scope, format, and columns.
Export has a hard limit of 20,000 rows. If you exceed it, you are told — the file will not be silently truncated. For larger sets, export in batches by narrowing the filters.
Empty screen
Two different messages:
- “No data” — nothing matches or there is nothing to show,
- “No results” + “No records match the selected filters” — you entered a search query.
Note: on some lists, the second message appears only when a query has been entered. A dropdown filter may show the ordinary “No data” message, making the active filter hard to see. Before reporting that data is missing, clear the filters (A menu item is missing).
