F1–F7 keys and the settings drawer
Seven shortcuts, all optional. The drawer contains device settings only; company policy lives on the server.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| F1 | Refresh the current mode |
| F2 | Switch Scanner ⟷ Keyboard |
| F3 | Turn sound on/off |
| F4 | Turn voice on/off |
| F5 | Full screen |
| F6 | Settings drawer |
| F7 | Back / exit kiosk |
The button row in the bottom bar is collapsed by default; expanded, it takes 44 of the handheld’s 640 pixels. Its expanded/collapsed state is remembered on the device.
Shortcuts do nothing while a dialog is open or while you are typing in a text field. You can disable them completely: F6 → F1–F6 shortcuts active.
Step by step
Expand the bottom-bar key row
- Look at the bottom bar. Three counters are on the left; three small unlabeled icons are on the right: a red X, full-screen icon, and gear.
- Tap the gear on the right. Its tooltip says More buttons.
- A row of seven buttons opens below the counters: F1 through F6, and Esc on the last, red button. Below 360 px wide, labels do not fit and are hidden; only icons remain.
- Tap the gear again to hide the row; its tooltip then says Hide buttons. The choice is saved on this device.
Open the settings drawer
- Press F6. Without a keyboard, expand the row as above and tap F6 — Settings.
- The Interface settings panel slides out on the right.
- At the top, under Warehouse, is a button with the current warehouse name. Tap it to close the drawer and open Select warehouse.
- Below are three switches: F1–F6 shortcuts active, Connection monitor visible, and Kiosk mode (force return to FS after Esc). They take effect immediately; there is no Save button or confirmation message.
- At the bottom is Show full-screen prompt on startup again.
- Close the drawer with the X in its header or press F6 again.
Disable keyboard shortcuts
- Open the drawer with F6.
- Turn off F1–F6 shortcuts active.
- The entire F1–F7 row becomes inactive, including F7, even though the label says F1–F6. The bottom-bar buttons still work when tapped.
- The setting stays on this device and survives reopening the kiosk.
- To re-enable it without a keyboard: bottom bar → gear → F6 — Settings → switch it back on.
Exit the kiosk
- Press F7 or tap the red X at the right end of the bottom bar.
- If the mode has screens to go back through, the first press goes back one step inside the mode and does nothing else. Keep pressing.
- When there is nowhere else to go back to, End WMS mode? appears with You will leave kiosk mode and return to the dashboard.
- Tap Yes, exit to go to the WMS dashboard. No, stay closes the dialog and returns to work.
What is in the drawer
Only settings for this device:
- warehouse selection;
- F1–F6 shortcuts;
- connection monitor visibility;
- kiosk mode (force return to full screen);
- reset the full-screen prompt.
Not available there: quantity thresholds, permission to scan with the camera, or confirmation rules. These are company policies set on the server; any operator could change them if they were in this drawer.
Kiosk hardening
In full-screen mode, the terminal blocks F12, Ctrl+Shift+I/J/C, Ctrl+U, Ctrl+L, Ctrl+T/W/N, Ctrl+R, the right mouse button, and dragging. Reload is deliberately blocked: operators never need it because F1 refreshes the mode state inside the app.
This is an obstacle, not a security measure — someone with keyboard access can still leave through the operating system.
