Eleven terminal functions and how to switch between them
Choose a function by tapping its name at the top. If you are carrying goods, switching is blocked.
Step by step — change function
- Put goods away if you are carrying anything. You cannot switch with a full carrier (see below).
- Wait until the terminal finishes saving; switching is blocked while a save is in progress.
- Tap the current function name in the top bar. The down arrow beside it means it is clickable. A short tap opens the switcher; pressing and holding does something else.
- The Change function window opens with a grid of tiles. The current function is highlighted; each tile has a WMS2 or WMS badge on its side.
- Tap the function you want. The window closes and the terminal opens in the new mode.
- If you see You are carrying goods, go back to step 1. You can also press Go to: <mode name> and finish the work in the mode those goods belong to.
Functions you are not permitted to use do not appear in the grid at all. Do not look for them behind scrolling.
What the terminal can do
| Function | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Replenishment | Move goods to picking locations |
| Picking | Collect goods from locations |
| Sorting | Sort picked goods into orders |
| Packages | Sort parcels and dispatch them (Packages mode — sort for dispatch and record warehouse exit) |
| Move | Goods, all goods, basket transport, lost items (Move mode — four workflows in one place) |
| Inter-warehouse transfer | Move goods between warehouses (Inter-warehouse transfer) |
| Receiving | Receive a delivery |
| Packing | Pack orders and print labels |
| Master carton | Consolidated shipment to a partner (master carton) |
| Stocktake | Count inventory |
| Lookup | View a location or product without changing anything |
Cart picking is not a separate tile. It starts automatically when the queue uses a cart profile or when you are already carrying a cart.
How to switch
Tap the function name in the top bar. The tile grid (Change function) opens. Switching is blocked during a save; this is protection against leaving halfway through an operation, not a freeze.
Why some tiles are missing
Using the terminal requires warehouse permission. Receiving has its own additional permission; without it, the tile does not exist. If someone removes your permission during a shift, the terminal moves you to the default function.
More specific permissions also apply inside functions — for example, separate permissions for Goods, All goods, and Basket transport in Move. Until the server responds, these are disabled, not enabled. If there is no response, the terminal would rather deny access than allow too much.
“You are carrying goods”
You cannot enter another mode while carrying goods that belong to the current one. The terminal shows a dialog naming the mode those goods belong to and offers to switch there.
This is not a failure. It prevents picked items from disappearing from the records if you switch screens by mistake. Put the goods away, then switch freely.
If you start the terminal while carrying something from your previous shift, it automatically opens the mode that goods belong to.
Company settings are missing
The bar message “No company settings — touch confirmation disabled until connected” means the terminal has not received the company policy from the server. It retries every few seconds. Until then, touch confirmations are disabled deliberately so you cannot bypass a rule the terminal does not know about.
