Inter-warehouse transfer
Move goods between company warehouses. The destination must be a transfer location, not an ordinary shelf — this is the most common reason for a refusal.
Inter-warehouse transfer moves goods between your company’s warehouses. The destination must be a transfer location, not an ordinary shelf.
Flow
- Scan the source location.
- Scan the product EAN. Each scan of the same EAN adds one unit; you can also enter a quantity in the calculator and press Confirm.
- Scan the transfer location (destination). The terminal drops the whole load and confirms Dropped at code.
The screen continuously shows Carrying · SKUs · From location · Transfer.
Refusals and what they mean
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| This is not a transfer location — scan a transfer location | An ordinary shelf is not a valid destination. |
| Invalid transfer (same warehouse?) | Source and destination must be in different warehouses. |
| No access to the source warehouse | Your account does not have access to that warehouse. |
| Location is locked by an active stocktake | Wait until counting is finished. |
| Ambiguous source / destination location | More than one location matches the scanned code. |
| Ambiguous EAN | More than one product matches the code. |
| You are carrying a load from another mode | Put it away first (Eleven terminal functions and how to switch between them). |
| Goods without an ERP adjustment (N units) cannot yet be sent to another warehouse or All these goods (N units) are waiting for an ERP adjustment | These are returned units not yet present in the ERP; they cannot go on an MM document. The terminal refuses when you pick them from the shelf. Take the quantity shown; units without an adjustment stay on the shelf. If the terminal refuses during put-away, return the remaining load at your location with Put back (Goods without an ERP credit note — returned items on shelves before the ERP is updated). |
If the location is already empty, the terminal says Nothing left at the location. If you are carrying nothing, it says You are not carrying anything.
MMW document (optional)
A company that manages its warehouse in Subiekt can enable Create an MMW after every inter-warehouse transfer in WMS settings. It is off by default; goods transfer between warehouses without documents.
When enabled:
- One transfer = one MMW. A transfer lasts from the first pickup until you have put away everything you carried, even if you distribute it across several shelves. Then an MMW is created, and its number appears beside Dropped (or Put back). If you change the destination warehouse during the transfer, there is one document per destination warehouse.
- Every MMW line has the source shelf and destination shelf.
- The document contains only goods that actually reached the destination warehouse. Goods put back in your own warehouse are not included.
- The document is approved immediately and sent to Subiekt. It does not change stock a second time and does not receive an MMP document.
- In Documents, you cannot edit, cancel, or copy it; corrections are made in Subiekt.
The document never blocks put-away. If an MMW cannot be created (for example, someone changed the MMW document type), the goods are still put away and the terminal says Put away — MMW not created; tell your coordinator. In WMS settings, a manager can see how many transfers are waiting for MMW and create them with Create overdue MMWs after fixing the problem. Overdue MMWs are also created automatically when you next complete a transfer from the same warehouse.
If a stock adjustment removes the rest of your carried goods instead of you putting them away at the terminal, the transfer closes on your next pickup — or when Create overdue MMWs is used if you do not transfer again soon. If the MMW still cannot be created then, the terminal says Previous transfer without MMW — tell your coordinator.
You cannot enable the option if the MMW document type cannot be created from a transfer (for example, it requires a contractor or price). The settings screen lists what must be changed.
