Delivery-method mapping and shipment validation
The marketplace sends its own delivery-method name — mapping translates it to your carrier. Shipment validation selects a courier automatically.
An order from a marketplace comes with the delivery-method name used by that channel — “Courier,” “Parcel locker,” “Pickup point.” Mapping translates it to a specific carrier on your side.
Step by step — add a mapping
- Go to Integrations → Integrations → My integrations and open the marketplace connection.
- Go to the Shipping stage and expand Courier mapping. With an empty configuration, you will see “No courier mappings for this integration.”
- Click Add mapping. The Add courier mapping dialog opens.
- In Delivery methods, select one or more methods sent by this channel. This field is required — without it, you will see Select at least one method.
- In Courier, select a carrier from the directory (Courier list — carrier directory). This field is required.
- If returns should use another carrier, fill in Return courier.
- In Courier integration, select the specific connection to this carrier. This field is required. If you have several accounts with one courier, the dialog warns: “This courier has N integrations — select the correct one.”
- In Countries, add the countries covered by this mapping: enter part of the name or a code (for example
DE) and select a country from the suggestions, then repeat for each country. This field is required. - Optionally set Warehouse name (blank = courier name), Color, and, for channels that require them, Delivery tracking and Return tracking.
- Choose the Default and Active toggles.
- Click Add. Mapping created confirms the change.
- Check the list: a row without an assigned carrier has the title Assign courier — this means the mapping is incomplete.
Edit an existing mapping with the pencil icon (the Edit courier mapping dialog; save with Save). Mappings cannot be deleted — turn off the active toggle for one you no longer need; order history will continue to refer to it.
Where to configure it
There are two places, using the same data:
- the Shipping stage of one connection’s configuration, under Courier mapping;
- the aggregate Settings → Integrations → Courier for delivery method screen, for all stores at once.
Aggregate screen — all stores
Settings sections are in the main menu, under Settings, so this screen uses the full width. On the left is a dense list of stores; select one to see its couriers and, on the right, its mappings. The search field above the list also searches method names and automatically expands stores with matching results.
To assign
The first list item contains delivery methods received from the channel that do not yet have a courier. An order with such a method stays in the mapping-error status until the method is assigned a courier.
- A button showing a courier name is a suggestion (based on the method name). It never applies automatically — click it. A tooltip explains what will happen:
- if the store has one active mapping for this courier and these countries, the method joins it and inherits its account, color, and tracking settings;
- if it has several, choose which one to join;
- if it has none, a new mapping for this courier is created with default settings.
- Other… / choose… opens search: first it shows this store’s mappings (search by courier, account, country, or a similar method name — the suggestion says “contains: …”), then couriers available for a new mapping. A mapping that does not cover every country for the method is greyed out.
- Bulk assignment: select several methods, choose a courier in the bottom bar, and click Assign. For 5 seconds you can Undo — nothing is saved until then.
After assignment, an empty “no courier” entry is disabled, not deleted.
Mapping editor
A sentence at the top reads the mapping aloud; each underlined phrase takes you to its field. There are four tabs:
| Tab | Contents |
|---|---|
| Shipping | Store, Courier, Courier account, For orders to (countries), Delivery methods, Default for store, Active |
| Returns and tracking | Return courier, Report carrier as, Report return as, Label template |
| Appearance | Display name, Color (the first circle is the courier color), preview |
| How it works | Order in which an order looks for a courier — preview only |
Required fields have a red asterisk, and the Shipping tab shows the number of missing fields. When a courier has several accounts, Automatic chooses one by country and the word “COD” in the account name (the field shows which account will receive each country, prepaid, and COD shipments); if nothing matches, it uses the first account.
How an order gets its courier
Within a store, based on delivery method and order country, the first matching rule wins:
- a default mapping for this method and country;
- any active mapping for this method and country;
- the store’s default courier for this country;
- none — the order gets a mapping error and the method appears under To assign.
Why it is critical
A missing mapping does not stop imports — the order still arrives normally. The problem appears only during packing: there is no label to select because the system does not know which carrier to use.
That is the worst time to discover missing configuration — the operator is standing at the station with a parcel. When connecting a new channel, map its methods before you let the first orders in.
Allowed tracking methods
Some channels also require you to specify which shipping methods may be reported on their site. Without this, the tracking number may be rejected during submission even if the label was generated correctly.
Shipment validation
Under Settings → Delivery, the Shipment validation tab provides automatic courier assignment. It lets the system select a courier without a person deciding, based on order conditions.
Rules are a layer on top of mapping, not a replacement for it: mapping defines what a method from the channel means; rules select which courier to use when there is a choice.
The Delivery section has four tabs
Besides shipment validation, it contains three lookup tables for shipment statuses. These three are shared across the whole platform and can be changed only by a super administrator with 2FA confirmation (Status dictionaries — external, internal, and mapping).
Checklist: “the order arrived, but cannot be packed”
- Is the channel’s delivery method mapped to a carrier?
- Does the carrier have an active connection (Connecting a carrier — the connection and its configuration)?
- Is it in the courier directory (Courier list — carrier directory)?
- Does the connector generate labels for this shipment type at all (see courier support in shipment tracking)?
