Operator — four ways to start working
Scan a location, take the next task, resume an active task, or join a session. Opening a task does not reserve it permanently.
Open the kiosk at /wms2 → Stocktaking module. It works on phones and handheld scanners, using the camera, scanner, and voice.
Step by step
- Open the
/wms2kiosk and select Stocktaking. If you are in another mode, open the Change function window and choose it there. - Check which warehouse is set on the device. Task lists show only tasks from that warehouse; you will not see tasks from another one.
- Open a task in one of the four ways described below: scan a location code, press Take one — get the next task, select a row from Active tasks, or select a row from Available tasks.
The product list to count is created when the task starts, based on that shelf’s warehouse movement history, not a temporary counter. This ensures that the list contains goods that actually arrived at the shelf and were not moved out. A product with no history recorded at that shelf will not appear, even if some counter showed it there—otherwise, it could only be counted as missing. If you find something on the shelf that is not on the list, simply scan it; overages are a normal part of counting.
- Check the header. Under Stocktaking you will see the location code you need to count, and the banner will say Scan product.
- Does the code differ from the shelf in front of you? Tap the back arrow in the header before scanning anything. The task silently returns to the pool, its assignment is cleared, and the shelf is unlocked. There is no prompt or message.
- If the code matches, scan. The counting instructions will guide you from here.
If someone else is already counting the shelf, you will see a Location occupied screen with their name and start time instead of the counting screen. Take over task works only if you have permission; otherwise, only Cancel is available, and you must choose another shelf.
Which way to start
- Scan a location—the simplest option. If there is no task there, one is created automatically (if the scenario allows it) and counting starts immediately.
- “Take one — get the next task”—takes the next task from the pool: first your own new tasks, then unassigned tasks with the highest priority in your warehouse.
- Active tasks—tasks you have already started. Resume one after a break.
- Available tasks / active session—unassigned tasks in open campaigns and tasks without a session, for example, those opened by an automation rule when an item is flagged “needs review.” Tasks in a closed campaign or assigned to someone else are not included. Entering a session means subsequent scans count toward it.
All four lists are filtered to the warehouse selected on the device. If you are working in one warehouse but see tasks from another, check which warehouse is selected.
Opening a task does not reserve it permanently
Opening a new task starts it and assigns it to you. But backing out before the first scan releases it back to the pool: its status returns to “new,” its assignment is cleared, and the shelf is unlocked.
A task with even one scan cannot be released; that work must be completed or canceled.
This addresses the complaint “I can’t see any tasks even though they have been assigned.” Previously, simply opening a preview permanently assigned a task without ever releasing it, so the pool ran dry: every task belonged to someone, even though no one was counting it.
The list shows only new tasks
Tasks that have been counted and are waiting for the office no longer appear on the list of tasks to take. Previously, it was possible to open and count them again, which led to “sometimes you have to count twice before it disappears.”
