Operator — finishing and limits of the role
A task with no scans cannot be finished. What the two final messages mean and what the operator does not do.
You cannot finish a task without a single scan. This prevents clearing an entire shelf from stock with one click.
An empty location is not the same as “zero scans.” Press Empty first, then Finish.
Step by step
- Make sure you counted the entire shelf, including products marked NOT ON LIST.
- Is the shelf empty, with no regular scans made? Tap the archive icon button (Empty) or scan the
EMPTYcode. - After pressing Empty, confirm the Mark location as empty? window with Yes, empty. The task closes immediately; you do not perform step 4. Scanning the
EMPTYcode does not ask for confirmation. - In all other cases, tap the green Finish button and confirm the Are you sure you want to finish the task? window by pressing Finish. If any item is below the expected quantity, the window asks: “Some items have not been fully counted. Finish anyway?”
- Read the final screen: Task closed or Sent for review (see below for what they mean).
- Counting as part of a session? The screen shows Next task in session with the code for the next shelf. Continue session opens it immediately; End session exits. Outside a session, the only button is Next.
In blind mode, you will not see the final screen at all—the terminal goes straight to the next task in the session or the start screen.
The two final messages
“Task closed” with the line “No discrepancies—auto-accepted, the office does not need to do anything.” This task is finished.
“Sent for review” with the line “The office will review discrepancies and decide what to do.” Your work is finished.
If you counted as part of a session, the system will immediately offer the next task in this session.
What the operator does not do
The operator does not accept discrepancies, issue documents, or adjust stock. Counting ends with the quantity; everything else is the office’s decision.
Even if the stock level is clearly wrong, count what is actually on the shelf. Guessing “what it should be” would undermine the only value of this count: that it is an independent observation.
