Catalog — section map
Products, categories, attributes, catalogs, and prices. Five areas that together determine what is listed and at what price.
| Area | About | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Products | Product records, variants, images, stock | Product list |
| Categories | Tree and assignments | Category tree |
| Attributes | Product features and their values | Attributes — screen and types |

| Prices | Price groups, formulas, VAT | Prices — screen and price groups |
How it fits together
A product is a record. A category says where it sits in the tree. Attributes describe its features and affect Completeness indicator. A catalog is a set of products prepared for a sales channel, with its own languages and price groups. Prices are determined by price groups and precedence rules (Which price takes precedence?).
Catalog and marketplace sales
Products in the catalog are not sent to channels automatically. You need an offer—a mirror of a listing—linked to the product (Linking a listing to a product — without it, nothing gets sent). Without this link, stock and prices are not synchronized (Marketplace offer — our local mirror of a listing).
Order for adding a new assortment
- Create categories and attributes before adding products; correcting them later takes more work.
- Add products.
- Set prices in the appropriate groups.
- Check the completeness score (Completeness indicator).
- Only then create and match offers.
