HR and time tracking — what the module includes
Employees, schedules, leave requests, reports, and a kiosk for clocking in and out. The event log is outside HR, under Advanced.
Step by step: find the right screen
HR screens are spread across four places in the menu. Before searching, work out what you need.
- Employee records, schedules, leave, reports — the HR group in the side menu. It has four items: Employees, Schedules, Leave, and Reports. The group appears only with Attendance permission; without it, the group is hidden completely.
- Raw clock-ins — in the Advanced group of the side menu, choose Event log. It is not under HR. This item requires both Advanced and Attendance permissions; without either one, it is hidden.
- Dashboards and analytics — in Reports, under the HR group: HR overview, HR analytics, Attendance report, Absences and leave, Overtime and compliance, Employee productivity (HR), Schedule adherence, and Work time utilization. The last two — Employee productivity (HR) and Work time utilization — require warehouse reporting permission, not HR permission (HR module pitfalls).
- Configuration — Configuration → Settings, Attendance section. Four tabs: Kiosks, Event types, Kiosk login, and Schedule groups. There is no separate “HR settings” item in the side menu.
- Kiosk — it does not appear at all in the side menu. Open it:
- from the HR overview dashboard using Open kiosk,
- or under Configuration → Settings → Attendance → Kiosks, where each kiosk has Open kiosk (the button in the interface omits the accent) and Copy link for its public URL.
If you are looking for clock-ins under HR and cannot find them, return to step 2. This is the most common navigation mistake in the module.
Screens
| Screen | Location | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
| Employees | HR | Employee records, departments, warehouses, leave allowances |
| Schedules | HR | Shift patterns and assignments |
| Leave requests | HR | Submitting and approving leave |
| Reports | HR | Reports and exports |
| Event log | Advanced | Raw clock-ins |
| Kiosk | Separate URL | Screen for clocking in and out |
| Settings → Attendance | Configuration | Kiosks, event types, login methods, schedule groups |
Event log is not in the HR section. It is under Advanced. If you look for clock-ins under HR, you will not find them.
There are also dashboards under Reports → Attendance: overview, HR analytics, attendance report, absences, overtime, schedule compliance, productivity, and utilization.
Two layers of data — understand the difference
| Layer | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Event | One clock-in: starting, finishing, or taking a break | Kiosk, panel, manual entry |
| Workday | Daily summary: hours, breaks, overtime, night hours | Built from clock-ins |
Workdays are generated automatically; every clock-in queues a rebuild. A workday follows the schedule, not the calendar: a night shift belongs to the day it started. The employee must have an employee record in the company (Event log, corrections, and workdays, HR module pitfalls).
Event types are configurable
Each event type has a code, name, icon, color, sound, and rules: whether it needs a matching end, requires a workday that has already started, ends when the employee leaves, and belongs to an exclusive group.
This lets you add “break,” “training,” or “business trip” without changing the system (Kiosk and time clocking).
Permissions
The module permission is Attendance. HR reports are protected by separate field-level reporting permissions; two of them require warehouse reporting permission, not HR reporting permission (HR module pitfalls).
Employee self-service screens work without module permission; the employee needs only to be signed in and have an employee record.
